Shower Leaks
Shower leaks problem can initially be very small but as with most construction problems if it is not maintained correctly and in its early stages it will grow and become costly, unsightly and even emit a bad odour.
A leaking shower can be identified by discolouration, mould or bubbling to the walls backing onto the shower usually just above ground level.
This wall plaster damage is being caused by water penetration through the tiles and grouting of the shower into the walls behind.
Causes of this water penetration can be from tile grout corrosion, cracks to the tiles, cracks to the grouting or the absence or incorrect wall and floor water proof seal application prior to the installation of the tiles.
Shower leaks can be repaired by re grouting of the wall and floor tiles, replacement of the cracked tiles, Silicon sealing the corners of the floor and walls of the shower or the removal and re application of the floor and wall tiles firstly ensuring the correct water proof seal is installed.
